Awesome Haul: Picnic Basket Acquired

This past week I've been busying myself with the start of my classes and the return to school. So far I've reorganized my dorm, gone to most of my classes (haven't had Creative Writing yet), hung out tons with my super cute boyfriend, and gone thrifting a few times. Here is the haul from my past two thrifting trips.

This hot pink handmade dress that is all about ruching! I need to fix it up a bit, but all I've gotta do is add a little more elastic to tighten it up. $7 and It'll make a nice weekend project. Very fun and flouncy, and excellent from spring!

I grabbed this cute white skirt. A-line cut and with black polka-dots, black trim and a wide sash that just needs a good ironing. $5 and too cute to pass up. I need more fun skirts!

This black skirt that's super easy to wash and has some nice draping and knotting detail. It even has a bit of a tulle trim. The $40 Kohls tag was still hanging off of it! Got it for $5. I realized to my dismay the other night that I did not have a plain black skirt with me here in Williamsburg and set out to right this wrong!

This picnic basket is one that I'm planning on using for a very long time. I may spray paint it another color, and maybe even install a pretty fabric lining. You may remember that I have been absolutely dying to find a nice picnic basket because I am so very very in love with picnicking, and my boyfriend, Seb, and I have made plans to do so in the near future. I got it so only $3.

The possibilities!

And last but not least i found this really cool print of William and Mary as it looked in 1981. It's really cool to see how it changed. It was only $8. We've taken the liberty of putting it up where a print of a renaissance lady used to hang in our lounge. Our cool points have definitely gone up.

And on top of all this, goodwill gives us a 20% discount for being w&m students!

    1. thank you! I don't know if it wants to be off the shoulder or not, but it's very forgiving and flexible insofar as to how I can wear it. :)

    1. I thought is was charming because not only was it so cute, but someone had clearly made it themselves. Somehow that's always a plus to me. I'm a sucker for sentimental value.
