I'm Not Going To Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You - harpermade

Hey all! Sorry I've been so MIA. The semester is winding down-- and by that I mean everything is coming to an end and it means everything is due and it's AWFUL! As a result, I haven't been able to blog much. Since today is the last day of classes, I've gotten a bit of a reprieve before diving into studying for my finals.

I mentioned last month how I wanted to make more stuff and post it on this blog in a tag called harpermade. I haven't had much time to do that, but I did want to share with you guys this video of me singing along to my friend Dylan's ukulele act in a little Boys vs. Girls talent show. We legit pulled this act together like 2 hours before the show since he had agreed to be in the show provided someone sing with him and it became apparent I was the only willing last-minute singer. I was coming off an awful sinus infection and getting in the middle of a godawful cough, but amazingly I didn't cough once in this performance (though I did flub the lyrics a few times!). Since it was Dylan's act we were a boys team! Boys lost and I'm still salty about it.

We did a performance of the song I'm Not Going To Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You by Black Kids. It's originally kind of like, a Cure-esque rock song that I really love, but I always wanted to sing a sweeter, cuter version while accompanied by a ukulele. Dreams come true, my friends! I know it's not quite exactly harpermade, but like... I don't know. I made some of those sounds with my face, so that kind of counts, right? Plus, I deserve lenience on the definition since this video's angle made my double-chin the star of my face :) (I have good angles-- this is not one of them.)

For anyone else slogging through the sadness and toil of finals, I hope this was fun, or at least not as awful as studying/researching/paper-writing.
